Opportunities Abound in Mobile VoIP - Are You Ready to Profit?
By Susan J. Campbell, TMCnet Contributing Editor
The demand for quality communications continues to intensify as developers introduce new and improved solutions on a seemingly daily basis. The products available are more robust, the platforms to support unified communications continue to evolve, and mobility is quickly turning into the first line of communications for consumers and businesses alike. To that end, the demand for mobile VoIP is still on the rise, as demonstrated by research from around the world.
In Slovenia, the second half of 2013 showed that VoIP accounted for 55.9 percent of the fixed telephony market. Classic telephony accounting for just 44.1 percent of the market, demonstrating a shift is taking place. The market is clearly being led by Telekom Slovenije, claiming 36.3 percent of the market share.
For those embracing mobile opportunities, Telekom Slovenije is once again the market leader, claiming 49.4 percent of the market, which stands at 109.4 percent mobile telephony penetration. Si.mobil claims 29.9 percent and Telemach is just scraping by with 0.1 percent of the mobile segment of the market.
Growth has been measured in fixed broadband penetration among businesses, with the number reaching 69.1 percent. Among households, penetration sits at 26.3 percent. Telekom Slovenije is again the market leader here with 38.1 percent. Providers like Amis, Telemach, Elektro Turnsek and others claim the remaining market share.
The current excitement, growth and demand in this part of the world are exciting as it demonstrates opportunities for the continued deployment of mobile VoIP technologies and applications. Those wireless carriers able to grasp on to the opportunities and turn them into revenue streams will dominate the market. Others, often viewing mobile VoIP as a threat, are likely to stick to traditional methods and literally miss the chance to take solutions to the next level.
When partnering with a proven provider like REVE Systems, however, many of the perceived challenges to optimizing mobile opportunities are easily overcome. In fact, REVE Systems has already done all the hard work and developed a white label solution that can easily be branded by the provider already established in key markets.
Juniper Research (News - Alert) suggests there will be more than one billion mobile VoIP subscribers by 2016. This kind of growth represents significant opportunity for those operators ready to respond to demand and embrace new technologies. REVE Systems can help in the process. More providers will be required to meet the growing need. Those ready to launch a new opportunity can leverage what REVE Systems has already built and go to market nearly immediately. The only question now is what are you waiting for?
