Expand Networks Wins 'Networking Vendor of the Year' Title

Expand Networks, a provider of WAN optimization technology, has claimed the title of "Networking Vendor of the Year," at the Microscope Awards for Channel Excellence.

"The result speaks for itself. Winning the networking vendor award for the second consecutive year is a great achievement", said Adam Davison (News - Alert), VP corporate sales and marketing, Expand Networks, in a statement.

Davison said that this year the company made great strides in product development, which has helped the channel improve end-user productivity, even in the most complex network environments. 

"The market is definitely ripe for advanced WAN optimization today, and we are fully committed to bringing our resellers and partners along with us to maximize the opportunity," he said.

Recently Expand Networks (News - Alert) announced that Baiada Poultry Pty Limited, an Australian provider of poultry products, is using Expand Networks WAN optimization technology to effectively prioritize traffic over the WAN, resulting in substantial improvements in company processes.

Baiada initially implemented Expand's Accelerators to overcome network performance challenges created by sending large numbers of invoices to remote printers each night.

By prioritizing and accelerating traffic over the WAN, Baiada has significantly reduced the time it takes to print several hundred invoices. With these invoices being sent out with each delivery truck, efficiency in the printing process has greatly assisted Baiada in getting deliveries out on time.

Since implementing Expand, Baiada says that it achieved 50 percent increase in network capacity, a 90 percent increase in speed and performance of network operations and has also improved network response time by 75 percent. Furthermore, in support of rapid company growth, Baiada has recently purchased additional Expand Accelerators, following the acquisition of Bartter Steggles. With this increased number of Accelerators Baiada has also implemented ExpandView.
