ESTOS Joins Avaya DevConnect Program

By Jyothi Shanbhag, TMCnet Contributor

Unified Communications (News - Alert) solutions provider ESTOS has reportedly joined the membership ranks of the DevConnect program developed by Avaya Inc., a global provider of business communications applications, systems and services.

According to Florian Bock, Managing Director of ESTOS, the new membership in Avaya’s (News - Alert) developer community will help ESTOS build its business by serving customers more efficiently and effectively.

“Building on Avaya resources and working more closely with the company to deliver compliance-tested solutions to the market, we are able to facilitate Microsoft (News - Alert) Office Communications Server implementation with AVAYA’s IP Office so businesses will benefit from IP Office’s rich UC features and take advantage of the Microsoft Office Communications Server,” he said.

The new membership will allow ESTOS to make available a wide range of support from Avaya, including technical resources and training. It can also utilise Application Enablement Services (AES), a set of application programming interfaces, protocols and Web services that makes it easier for developers to create Avaya-compatible networks, devices and applications.

Avaya executives said that they have designed the Avaya DevConnect program to promote the development, compliance-testing and co-marketing of innovative third-party products that are compatible with standards-based Avaya solutions.

The Avaya DevConnect program currently includes thousands of software and hardware developer companies, integrators, service providers and customers creating innovative solutions tested for Avaya compliance, including natural language speech recognition applications and wireless services.

“Development partners like ESTOS are helping Avaya dramatically expand the options available to its customers,” said Eric Rossman (News - Alert), vice president, developer relations and technical alliances, Avaya.

He said that they provide the tools businesses need to change the way they work and to establish a true competitive advantage in the marketplace.

Since its inception in1997, ESTOS GmbH has been developing and selling innovative standard software to companies of all sizes with the ambition to streamline their communication and collaboration processes. The ESTOS CallControlGateway middleware integrates Microsoft Office Communications Server and Microsoft Office Communicator with Avaya’s IP Office and other major PBX (News - Alert) systems – traditional, hybrid or IP.
