Cisco to Distribute Openet's FusionWorks Policy Manager Product

Openet providing Transactional Intelligence for network service providers has made an OEM agreement with Cisco for the distribution of Openet’s (News - Alert) FusionWorks Policy Manager product.

 

The agreement entails that Cisco (News - Alert) will market and sell FusionWorks Policy Manager as a Cisco-branded offering to operators of high-speed wireless, fixed line and cable networks along with Cisco’s Mobility Solutions. This includes Cisco’s deep packet inspection products used by operators for inspecting and controlling data on their networks.

 

Cisco and Openet provide solutions for communications providers and will be able to assist operators to dynamically apply business logic within their mobile, landline, cable and WiMAX (News - Alert) networks.

 

Openet’s Policy Manager product effectively complements Cisco’s Mobility Solutions. Dynamic policy control helps maximize revenue as telecom and cable providers deploy personalized services.

The partnership-based approach to dynamic network control, such as the integration of Openet’ policy management software with Cisco’s deep packet inspection hardware is essential,” said Elisabeth Rainge, director, NGN operations at IDC (News - Alert).

The Cisco Mobility Solutions allows processing of IP flows via dynamic content examination, subscriber service access control and subscriber account balance enforcement in a scalable, robust package.

 

The integration of Openet’s Transactional Intelligence capabilities with Cisco deep packet inspection products enables Cisco to offer a comprehensive suite of tightly integrated preconfigured solution to operators. This enables dynamic access control and allocation of network resources for new revenue sources and for enhancing customer experience.
