Broadvox, Panasonic Forge SIP Trunking Partnership

By Michael Dinan, TMCnet Editor

On the heels of an announcement that its SIP trunking integrates with a popular IVR platform, a Dallas-based managed VoIP services provider today said that it’s forging a strategic partnership with a major international consumer electronics company.

Officials at Broadvox say that Tokyo-based Panasonic – which stands this summer to acquire Japanese rival Sanyo for about $9 billion – has agreed to resell their so-called “GO!” SIP trunking products.

According to Andre Temnorod, the chairman and chief executive officer at Broadvox, Panasonic’s (News - Alert) “customer-first” philosophy makes it a good partner.

“The affordability, flexibility and scalability of their communications solutions exemplify (Panasonic’s) commitment (to customers),” Temnorod said. “Adding our products to their cost-effective business solutions adds value to their customer base and generates new revenues for their dealers.”

Eight-year-old Broadvox recently expanded its products to the enterprise and reseller spaces. Broadvox GO! SIP Trunking products include unlimited local and long distance calling with options such as DIDs, E911, LNP, dynamic load balancing and business continuity, as well as PSTN origination, termination, business continuity and disaster recovery services. The company’s SIP trunking and VoIP products are available for VARs with IP-PBX (News - Alert) sales.

In Panasonic, Broadvox is targeting a company that’s laid out a strategy to pick up market share in CE during this slower economy.

TMCnet reported here a few months ago when the company finally confirmed its planned acquisition of Sanyo (News - Alert) – a tender offer that’s now expected to come through in July, insiders say.

The company’s vice president of communications solutions, Bill Taylor (News - Alert), said Panasonic chose Broadvox as its first carrier relationship for SIP Trunking because of its voice quality and reliable network supported by experienced SIP engineering and customer service personnel.

With today’s announcement, Panasonic launched its so-called “SIP Trunking Dealer Program” with the expectation that more than 500 dealers will participate.

The companies see their combined product offering as securing a path to Unified Communications (News - Alert) for business.

“With presence enriched productivity applications, the Panasonic Network Communication Platforms platforms allow anytime anywhere access to a whole host of business communication applications,” they say.
