Nianet Uses BroadWorks VoIP Platform to Deploy Hosted Unified Communications

By Jyothi Shanbhag, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Nianet A/S, a Danish provider of virtual private network (VPN) and Internet services, is using BroadSoft’s BroadWorks VoIP application platform to deliver hosted unified communications services to enterprises in Denmark.

The company operates in all major cities in Denmark, and their customers include the top 200 Danish enterprises. It aims to bring all regions of the country together and deliver a simple, affordable network based on pure IP and Ethernet with new technologies.

Nianet will use BroadSoft's (News - Alert) BroadWorks platform to deploy hosted PBX, unified messaging, advanced calling features to enterprise customers under the service plan, Fibertel. The BroadWorks Fixed-Mobile Convergence (FMC) feature helps companies to exchange IP in GSM/3G environments.

BroadSoft's IMS-compliant BroadWorks platform provides a comprehensive range of VoIP applications, including mobile PBX (News - Alert), business trunking and residential broadband services fully integrated into a single VoIP application platform. Its Xtended Program, Web 2.0 initiative will enable third-party developers to create new applications integrated with BroadWorks.

"We evaluated a number of hosted telephony solutions but we felt that BroadWorks offered our customers a solution they can implement quickly," said Steen Rye Jeppesen, director of business development for Nianet.

He added, "The platform's well-documented APIs enables us to integrate it with our billing and customer portal solution. Finally the BroadSoft Xtended program offers us a wealth of possibilities for future products to add into our offer."

BroadWorks ensures that its platform offers higher reliability, redundancy, scalability and regulatory capabilities required to deliver carrier-class service on the applications.

"Nianet is committed to offering the most forward-looking and innovative services for its customers," said Mike Wilkinson, director of European marketing for BroadSoft. "Also, Nianet understands the importance of offering its enterprise customers a solution that is scalable and quick to deploy, and delivers the productivity enhancing features expected from hosted unified communications services."

The company was recently in news for announcing the general availability of its hosted unified communications service for businesses based on Microsoft (News - Alert) software. This will enable businesses of all sizes to decrease infrastructure costs, improve productivity, and enhance communications integrated with their applications and processes.

BroadSoft provides VoIP applications to some of the largest carriers worldwide, including Korea Telecom, KPN, SingTel (News - Alert), Sprint, Telefonica de Espana, Telstra, T-systems and Verizon.
