Amdocs and IBM Launch Unified Customer Relationship and Data Management Solution

Amdocs, a provider of software solutions for customer experience systems, recently teamed up with IBM ( News - Alert) under an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) agreement. IBM’s DB2 Data Server and Optim Data Growth products are being embedded into Amdocs' customer management solutions. This will help companies reduce total cost of ownership (TCO  ) as well as storage and other hardware costs.
“Global companies of all sizes are seeking to improve the customer experience, which requires the ability to handle all customer interactions in a personalized, accurate and efficient manner,” said Guy Dubois, executive vice president at Amdocs ( News - Alert), in a statement.
Dubois continued: “This requires resources to ensure high performing, always-available CRM systems that provide real-time access to all customer data. The latest collaboration between Amdocs and IBM will provide a solution that enables companies to deliver personalized customer interactions with much lower hardware costs, greater system performance and reduced regulatory compliance risks.”
Prior to this, Amdocs had launched the Amdocs Customer Experience Systems (CES ( News - Alert)) 7.5 which includes the Amdocs Customer Relationship Management (CRM) 7.5. This new suite will enable companies to differentiate and manage their interaction with customers through their service and support processes which in turn will help them provide consistent personal customer experiences.
"Today's business environment demands companies to have a more detailed understanding of the data generated from their customer relationships in order to stay competitive," said Rob Thomas, vice president, Information Management at IBM.
"Through our collaboration with Amdocs, we will deliver a joint solution that can help clients unlock the value of key business data, which is what IBM's Information on Demand strategy is all about."
Amdocs and IBM are building a guide to closely merge Amdocs CRM with IBM's DB2 and the Optim Data Growth products. This kind of integration is to help customers by providing automated data recovery utilities thereby protecting customers from system downtime. It is also expected to help customers reduce storage hardware costs and increase system performance through its Advanced CRM database. Its integrated data gmore thannance is to work to avoid business disruption and simplify database administration. It is also capable of providing actual user access to compiled customer data to support personalized, efficient customer interactions.
