TELUS Launches Visual Voice Mail

TELUS (News - Alert) today launched Visual Voice Mail, a service that enables TELUS wireless customers to read their voice mail as text messages or e-mail for increased productivity, the company said.
TELUS’ Visual Voice Mail is an enhanced voice-to-screen service that offers clients both the voice mail-to-text service and voice mail-to-email function, which lets customers get their phone messages anywhere in the world that they can access email using smartphones such as BlackBerrys and PDAs, or computers, said Jim Senko, vice-president, TELUS Business Solutions.
“The launch of TELUS Visual Voice Mail is another step in extending our leadership in unified communications, bringing multiple modes of communication together for streamlined connectivity,” said Senko.
TELUS wireless customers can, for the first time, ‘see what was said.’ TELUS Visual Voice Mail will help mobile workers be more productive and efficient by letting them retrieve voice mail in settings in which they normally couldn’t, such as meetings, seminars and loud environments. The message includes the caller’s hyperlinked phone number, so users have the option of responding easily and at the touch of a button either by voice or by text. They can also get an audio recording of the message as an attachment.
”TELUS is proud to be the first company in Canada to extend this useful service beyond the popular voice mail-to-text message service, to enable customers to get their voice mail as an e-mail. Wherever in the world they can get email, they can now read their voice mail. It’s even easier to stay connected on-the-go,” said Senko.
TELUS Visual Voice Mail has a pay-per-use option for business users who want occasional access to voice mail in text format, while frequent users can choose an unlimited monthly subscription. TELUS customers can subscribe to the service by visiting their sales contact or a local dealer, calling customer care or adding the feature on mytelusmobility.com. TELUS Visual Voice Mail is available in English and French to wireless customers across the country.
