Sangoma Expands Multi-Year IVR Relationship with TeleSoft

By Anshu Shrivastava, TMCnet Contributor

Sangoma Technologies has announced that it has expanded its multi-year relationship with TeleSoft International to use its TsLink3 PRI ISDN stack in the Sangoma Media Gateway and related products.

“We chose TeleSoft because our experience has been that the software just works,” said David Mandelstam (News - Alert), president and CEO at Sangoma, adding that the company does not get any calls from customers complaining about the products when using TeleSoft’s ISDN.

TeleSoft International (News - Alert) is a U.S.-based premier supplier of telecom access software used in carrier class equipment, enterprise devices and terminal equipment. TsLink3 ISDN software is conformant with the world standards for both the network and user sides of the North American NI-2, Lucent 5ESS & Nortel (News - Alert) DMS100, ETSI EuroISDN and Japanese ISDN variants.

Using PRI ISDN, enterprise class VoIP devices can connect to the PSTN. Company officials said that Sangoma’s Media Gateway (News - Alert) allows customers to easily connect to the PSTN with a reliable product.

Previously, Sangoma used TeleSoft’s software in the Netborder series of products. Company officials said that they selected TeleSoft as their primary PRI ISDN provider for their current and future products because of this excellent experience.

Mandelstam said that there is an initial up-front fee but the total cost of ownership is lower than for open-source solutions, because the TeleSoft code is easy to work with, fully supported and is “exceptionally” reliable.

“Not having to fix someone else's bugs means that our engineers can work on new value-added features for our customers. This high quality makes our customers more profitable because they don't have the expense of debugging and fixing someone else's product,” Mandelstam said.

Chris Cox (News - Alert), vice president of marketing at TeleSoft International, said that as the VoIP to PSTN market accelerates, system developers, OEMs and VARs are realizing that the most important factors determining success are high performance products that are both robust and reliable.

“Sangoma products set the standard in providing the best combination of hardware and software quality in the VoIP to PSTN market and we are delighted to be a factor in their success,” Mandelstam said.

Sangoma is a provider of voice and data connectivity components for software-based communication applications. The company’s data cards, voice cards, gateways and connectivity software are used in PBX, IVR, contact center and data-communication applications worldwide.

Earlier this year in May, the company launched a series of PCI and PCI Express cards providing up to 480 channels of voice transcoding per card.
