Network Installation Provider Contingent Named to Inc. 5000 RosterBy Erin Harrison, Senior Editor Contingent Network Services has been named to the 2009 Inc. 5000 List, company officials announced this week, noting the firm's second consecutive year on the list.
This year Contingent ranked in at number 2522, improving on last year’s ranking by 274 places. The 2009 Inc. 5000 list measures revenue growth from 2005 through 2008.
The recognition classifies the company among an elite group that over the years has included Microsoft (News - Alert), Timberland, Jamba Juice, Oracle and UnderArmour. Many of today’s most successful U.S. companies received their first public recognition when they appeared on the Inc. 5000 list, Contingent officials pointed out.
“Contingent’s inclusion in the Inc. 5000 for the second consecutive year shows consistent growth in the demand for Contingent’s managed WAN services and its technology and telecommunications installation, maintenance and repair – or “truck rolls” – business,” said Russ Maney (News - Alert), principal and co-founder of Xponential Group, a Louisville, Ky-based technology procurement services company that represents Contingent.
Inc. describes its list as “the most comprehensive look ever at the entrepreneurial engine driving the U.S. economy.” To qualify, companies must be U.S.-based and privately held, for profit, independent – not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies – as of Dec. 31, 2008, and have had at least $200,000 in revenue in 2004, and $2 million in 2007.
“The fact that Contingent moved up 274 places in the list from 2008 to 2009 shows its business actually got stronger while the overall economy got weaker, which really underscores the value it provides to its customers," Maney said.
As TMCnet reported last week, Contingent completed a national rollout of integrating HM electronic timing devices for 1,330 Wendy’s corporate restaurants in 43 business days.
The Cincinnati, Ohio-based company specializes in a variety of information technology services focused primarily on design, deployment and management of wide area network and local area network infrastructure. Contingent itself is not a carrier, a reseller or an agent but a “managed services provider” that is technology, vendor, and carrier neutral, according to company officials.
Contingent also provides managed services and individual project implementation services for wireless system virtual private networks, local area networks, voice over Internet protocol or “VoIP,” wide area networks, servers and desktops, including the installation, distribution and support of all of these and more.
