BroadSoft Announces Communication Applications Optimized for 4G Networks

By Anil Sharma, TMCnet Contributor

BroadSoft, Inc., a global provider of IP-based communications services to the telecommunications industry, has announced that its communication applications have been optimized for 4G networks.

Officials with BroadSoft (News - Alert) said that the company’s MobileMxD—an integrated suite of Consumer and Unified Communications (UC) services, is optimized for 4G networks and the growing variety of smartphones and tablet devices.

Thanks to MobileMxD, Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) will now be able to provide greater value to their existing consumer services, while tapping into the growing enterprise demand for mobile UC applications.

Company officials claimed that MobileMxD will enable mobile operators to tap into subscriber revenue opportunities across all major smartphone and tablet operating systems (iOS, Android (News - Alert), etc.) and 4G enabled devices.

"For mobile network operators seeking a path for delivering 4G smartphone and tablet-enabled consumer and UC service –and the increased subscriber revenue that can come with these services—we believe MobileMxD will represent a compelling opportunity to do so quickly and cost-effectively," said Michael Tessler, president and chief executive officer of BroadSoft, in a statement.

Tessler said that through MobileMxD, the company is expanding its recently announced strategic approach for fixed and converged operators to mobile operators, providing these operators with a method to monetize their LTE (News - Alert) data networks, while integrating voice components.

According to company officials, mobileMxD will initially feature several in-demand services, including-MxDFamilyCenter-a Web-based application that enables individuals to personalize their communication services and will allow families to stay connected and informed; MxDCallCenter-Call Center capabilities, including video calling, which will enhance the customer experience and improves customer satisfaction and MxD instant messaging and presence—smartphone and tablet access to business contacts from an integrated corporate directory, as well as mobile presence & location indicators among other such services.

TMCnet in October reported that BroadSoft has introduced BroadCloud, a cloud-based, hosted infrastructure that will serve as the foundation for the company's growing Software-as-a-Service communications capabilities.

Officials with BroadSoft said that BroadCloud will feature a comprehensive set of Unified Communications (News - Alert) (UC) services, enabling carriers to offer enterprise customers a branded UC solution, as well as new online marketplace distribution options.
