Enterprise Fax Over IP Feature: Boosting BPA With Next-Gen Document RecognitionBy Erin Harrison, Senior Editor Enterprise content management and enterprise fax over IP provider Open Text Corporation this week announced an end-to-end transactional content management solution. The release of Open Text Capture Center version 4 features next generation document classification and data capture capabilities and so-called deeper integration with the Open Text ECM Suite.
Company officials said the product gives customers the first end-to-end, fully-integrated solution for automating business transactions.
With paper documents still make up a large portion of a company’s data, having an automated capture system is imperative to optimizing business processes and lowering costs, according to Johannes Schacht, product manager document capture technologies at Open Text. “By making Capture Center part of the ECM Suite, we are delivering the industry’s first and only complete transactional content management offering. This translates into faster deployment, more functionality and greater return on investment for our customers,” Schacht said.
In addition, faxing continues to be a critical requirement for many businesses that need signatures, drawings and other paper-based content. In industries and businesses such as banking, healthcare, mortgage companies, and patent offices, faxes are recognized as important legal documents and vital to business operation. With Open Text Fax Server, RightFax Edition and Exchange Server 2010, faxing becomes an integral part of the overall enterprise infrastructure, providing a strong return on investment and reducing or eliminating the need for physical fax machines. Document classification, data capture and data recognition technologies are used anywhere documents including purchase orders, insurance claims and vendor invoices, among many others – need to be routed and information from paper documents extracted, according to OpenText officials. With Capture Center 4, automation starts at the point of entry for incoming documents: in the mailroom. This means information in documents gets to intended destinations almost immediately, compared to slow sorting and delivery of documents followed by error-prone manual keying of information into systems. Thousands of customers as well as original equipment manufacturers currently rely on Open Text’s Capture Center technology, company officials said. Open Text Capture Center 4 is available now.
