Varolii Launches New Outbound Communications Products

By Patrick Barnard, Senior Web Editor, TMCnet

It's getting harder for companies to ensure that their communications are being read or heard by the customers and employees they are sending them to. We live in an age where it has become commonplace for people to blow off critical communications and say "I didn't have time to reply," "I didn't know it was important," or “I never got it.”

As such, Varolii Corporation (News - Alert), which specializes in proactive outbound communications, has introduced three new outbound communications products, Varolii Call Me Now, Varolii Generations and Varolii Contact Center Agent, all designed to get people who are hard to reach to reply.

Varolii Call Me Now lets recipients respond to SMS messages via text so Varolii can then either connect them with an agent or complete the conversation with a high quality, automated voice call. This is an ideal solution for contacting hard-to-reach individuals who need to respond quickly in order to share urgent information. For example, many consumers won’t answer mobile phone calls from numbers they don't recognize. With Varolii Call Me Now, you can send a text message first, alerting the consumer and asking them to answer the call that will immediately follow.

Varolii Generations is a solution designed for targeting specific demographic groups, using the messaging and the channels they are most likely to reply to. In other words, you can alter the channel (SMS, voice and email), voice treatment, message patterns and previous response outcomes, such as time of day or male/female voice, depending on which demographic group you are targeting.

For example, you might want to target Generation Y-ers with a text-based message using more slang and an automatic payment reminder option. Or if you are targeting Baby Boomers you might want to use a voice and email-centric message with an age-appropriate persona, more formal speech, slower cadence and a bill explanation option. You might even want to follow this up with an email that provides additional detail.

Varolii Contact Center Agent allows companies to manage their call center agents in unison with their outbound customer communication strategies. The system automatically notifies agents to ensure staffing requirements are met. For example, if there was a major storm approaching in one of the areas where you have a contact center, you could use Varolii Contact Center Agent to send text messages to all of your agents in that area, telling them to stay home, while asking agents in another region to report for work to handle the overflow.

All three products use Varolii ID to send tailored messages to individual recipients – and all are dispatched using the features of the new unified Varolii Interact Platform.

"Varolii's three new advanced reach products will give our customers a competitive advantage, allowing them to collect more money, deliver higher customer satisfaction, manage patients more effectively and ensure clear communications to employees,” said Jeffrey Read, executive vice president at Varolii, in a release.

Varolli’solutions are used for automating personalized communications such as flight cancellation notices, fraud detection alerts and prescription pick-up reminders. More than 380 companies, including many of the largest U.S. banks, airlines, wireless carriers, utilities and healthcare organizations, use Varolii to send critical communications to their customers and employees.

Seattle-based Varolli last made news on TMCnet in May 2008, when it announced that its Total Solutions package of fully managed, on-demand outbound communications for collections and customer service had already exceeded the company’s initial sales projections.
