Brazil-based telecom carrier GlobeCall announced on Wednesday that it has tapped Quintum (News - Alert) Technologies Tenor VoIP solution for its national VoIP network, connecting its headquarters in Rio de Janeiro and several POPs.

 

By deploying Quintum CMS (Carrier MultiPath Switch) 960 other Tenor models, GlobeCall achieved nationwide VoIP for the country of Brazil, offering a scalable solution and reducing telephone bills by nearly 50 percent for the carriers’ customers. Because of Tenor’s ability to connect to almost any PBX, GlobeCall experienced a lower cost of ownership.

 

“GlobeCall required a highly scalable solution, and one that would easily deploy on customer premises, without modifications to their network,” said Chuck Rutledge, VP of Marketing for Quintum in a statement. “They opted for the CMS line for their POPs, because of its scalability from 8 to 32 T1/E1/PRI ports, to support up to 960 simultaneous VoIP calls, and the Tenor’s MultiPath architecture simplified VoIP deployment at the customer premise minimizing installation time and expense.”

 

GlobeCall is able to provide high voice quality for standard services and VoIP services to the corporate market as authorized by ANATEL, the national agency for telecommunications in Brazil.
