Nokia Siemens Networks announced today that Com Hem (News - Alert) is officially the first Swedish telecommunications operator to commercially utilize an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) platform.


Com Hem now has the capability to quickly introduce new functions and subscriber services, as well as participate in new partnerships with other operators, all thanks to IMS. The IMS solution, which includes the IMS Core and SURPASS hiQ 8000 VoIP application server, is being provided and integrated by Nokia (News - Alert)
Siemens Networks.

The Swedish company is using IMS at first to provide VoIP, which can also be connected to other networks as a result of the expanded cooperation with other operators that IMS makes possible.
