CRM News for 15 June 2006: Amdocs, Think Mortgage, salesforce.com, Entellium

By David Sims, TMCnet Contributing Editor

CRM news announced recently:

Entellium has announced the availability of the first sales force automation application for mobile devices that is “as easy to use as the worlds most popular music player,” while including all the features of a full CRM suite, according to company officials.

Entellium eMobile gives information and tools for users on the road, whether working with customers on-site or while traveling.

It offers an intuitive sliding menu system that lets users work from smart phones as effectively as they do from laptops and PCs, with only one thumb required to move about the application. Since eMobile is wirelessly linked to Entellium’s on-demand datacenter, users can access the information and follow sales processes just like their colleagues in the office.

Entellium eMobile is part of the Entellium eDesktop Release also announced today that features a new downloadable smart client.

CRM vendor Amdocs (News - Alert) has announced that it was named the leading provider of global operations support systems (OSS) in a recent report by OSS Observer titled “Market Share: Global OSS Supplier Market Leadership in 19 Segments.”

OSS Observer defines the OSS space to include both network-facing systems (OSS) and aspects of customer-facing business support systems, such as billing and customer relationship management.

Amdocs has three times the market share of the second largest provider, according to the report, which is an annual ranking of 250 global software and equipment vendors.

The network-facing systems (OSS) and customer-facing BSS systems historically have been independent of one another. Connecting OSS and BSS is key as service providers transform their businesses in order to lower costs, launch new converged services and improve the customer experience.

According to Carolina Newswire, Think Mortgage has hired Customer Connect Associates to implement a Customer Relationship Management technology for them, namely salesforce.com:

“Customer Connect will assist them to develop and automate their business processes for delivering wholesale lending services to brokers across the country. Think Mortgage is a wholesale mortgage lender based in southern California.”

“Our unique understanding of Salesforce.com (News - Alert) software will help Think Mortgage to implement faster processes and highly competitive products to significantly improve the experience of retail loan brokers,” Geoff Ables, president of Customer Connect, tells Carolina Newswire.
