Porsche Makes Exclusive Mobile Device

I don’t know about you, but when I see a Porsche zoom past me on the highway, I think to myself, “now that is one sexy car.” 

And now, the Germany sports car manufacturer’s subsidiary, Porsche Design, is planning on releasing a mobile phone exclusive for Porsche owners. As if they weren’t “exclusive” enough. 


The Porsche Design P’9522 BLACK, the latest in the company’s series of mobile phones, held its global launch in Singapore, where, for now, only the 1,600 or so drivers of Porsche cars in the affluent city state can buy it from the car dealership, Stuttgart Auto.

According to Samy Redjeb, business director for Brand Lab, the sole distributor of Porsche Design mobiles in several Asian countries, including China and Singapore, the mobile device has been released in Asia, Russia and the Middle East and has done quite well. 

Made from Sagem (News - Alert) Wireless, the exclusive mobile device has a sleek black anodized aluminum and black mineral glass, with a fingerprint sensor to authenticate users. 

The one catch: it’s not the cheapest. Retailing for $1,636.00 per device, it’s no wonder the phone is only offered to Porsche owners – the only people who can afford it!

In addition, Redjeb said that the brand also did well in China. 

And for those craving even more distinction – and with the pockets deep enough to pay for it – Redjeb said Porsche Design was working on a luxury yacht that will also be launched in Asia.
