For music lovers looking for the latest mobile device to meet their calling needs as well as offer musical enjoyment, Sony Ericsson ( News - Alert) has introduced a new Walkman phone complete with accessories.
The new addition to their Walkman phone portfolio, the W380 Walkman phone, offers the ability for users to mute calls with the wave of their hand, thanks to the inclusion of new Gesture Control and includes the ability to show the name of a track or the name of the person who is calling on the external display.
The Walkman phone, a GSM/EDGE/GPRS 850/1800/1900 clamshell phone available in Q1 2008, boasts the ability for on the go music lovers to use Walkman controls that are located right on the top of the phone, and without having to even open the phone.
The phone also includes TrackID, making it possible to record a song clip from the radio to find out the song, singer and album.
According to a company news release, the TrackID functionality is one of the phone's most popular features. Latest figures show that every second, someone, somewhere, is using TrackID to identify a song they love.
"With the W380, we address the needs of young, fashion-conscious music lovers," Ben Padley, Head of Music Marketing at Sony Ericsson commented.
To alert users of an incoming call and to make use of the phone's musical capabilities, the phone also includes different light effects that can be customized and set for different callers along with the ability to match the phones lights with the beat of the song being played.
