Universa, a German-based private health insurance organization, has announced that it selected Entrust ( News - Alert) IdentityGuard, which is a multipurpose authentication platform, to increase efficiency and productivity of the organization between internal assets, workstations, applications and their remote workforce.
Entrust leverages a layered security approach to address growing risks and help secure the most common digital identity and information protection points in an organization. These include SSL, authentication, fraud detection, shared data protection and e-mail security.
Entrust IdentityGuard is an open multi-purpose authentication platform. It enables organizations to layer security according to access requirements or the risk of a given transaction across different users and applications. The platform features UI for logging in username and password, IP-geolocation, machine/device, questions and answers, out-of-band one-time passcode which are delivered via voice, SMS or e-mail, grid cards and a range of one-time-password (OTP) tokens.
Entrust IdentityGuard can minimize operational challenges such as lessening burdens to help desks and infrastructure maintenance. It also includes a Web-based administration capability for user and policy management. This enables organizations to distribute administrative tasks to specific individuals very easily and neatly with role based method.
"Universa required the ability to secure resources and access with a strong, respected authentication platform," said Universa IT manager Christian Knauer. "The primary goal was to enable secure access without sacrificing security and the integrity of our sensitive information and intellectual property. This implementation allowed us to address those goals with a simple-to-use, easy-to manage solution."
Universa now leverages more than 900 Entrust IdentityGuard tokens for strong two-factor authentication. Entrust also provides software for secure remote access to enterprise resources and Microsoft ( News - Alert) Outlook Web Access (OWA).
