MMTA President Predicts Huge CTI Market Growth Potential
The market for computertelephony integration (CTI) products and services is growing dramatically and will easily triple by the year 2000, predicted William R. Moroney, president and CEO of the MultiMedia Telecommunications Association (MMTA). Moroney cited MMTA research forecasting that the North American market for CTI software and hardware would grow from $885.9 million in 1996 to $2.38 billion in 2000. Moroney also included the following elements as part of his outlook:

  • Most CTI growth will be at the client/server level.
  • Distribution will be a key factor — the channel is essential to mass market acceptance and broad enduser education.
  • Internet-related applications will become a CTI driver, with CTI making Web sites more productive.
