Customers can also add another access point without worrying about exceeding controller capacity or needing an upgrade as Aerohive's cooperative control architecture eliminates the need for centralized network controllers.
"Aerohive's cooperative control architecture and built-in wireless mesh capabilities provide unique advantages in location-enabled Wi-Fi environments," said Tuomo Rutanen, vice president of business development, Ekahau.
"Ekahau's mission is to provide the easiest, most cost-effective, and most accurate Wi-Fi positioning solutions, and partnering with Aerohive enables us to deliver the highest-quality solutions possible."
To streamline things further, the two companies have joined each other's partner programs and agreed to co-market their products.
Sheen Khoury, executive vice president, sales and field operations, Aerohive Networks said, "Ekahau's state-of-the-art location products provide workflow automation, asset tracking, and supply chain management while increasing safety and security," said Khoury. "Aerohive's focus on the healthcare, manufacturing, and logistics markets makes our partnership with Ekahau complementary and synergistic."
With offices in Saratoga, Calif.; Reston, Va.; Helsinki, Finland; and Hong Kong, China, Ekahau boasts a customer base encompassing several Fortune 500 companies. Last month, TMCnet
reported that Rautakesko Limited selected Ekahau’s Wi-Fi-based RTLS solution for customer behavior analysis in its retail stores.
