Windstream Wholesale Expands Network Connectivity with 2 Data Center Additions

By Stefania Viscusi April 25, 2024

Windstream Wholesale, a provider of advanced optical solutions, expanded into two prominent data centers, Ascent and Stack, in Alpharetta, Georgia. This expansion, achieved through a successful partnership with a major global financial solutions provider, underscores Windstream (News - Alert) Wholesale's commitment to meeting evolving customer needs.

The seamless integration of its operations into the Ascent and Stack data centers allows Windstream Wholesale to tailor its services to meet the requirements of its client and highlights the company's adaptability.

Ascent is best known for its custom-built end-to-end solutions prioritizing safety, availability, and innovation. It serves data-intensive organizations. Stack caters to hyperscale demands and boasts data centers designed for efficiency, flexibility, and sustainability.

Windstream Wholesale proposed innovative route designs tailored to the specific needs of the data center locations and fostered close collaboration with the customer to help ensure the successful implementation of the connectivity solution.

“We invested the necessary time to work with the customer, actively listening to their needs and delivering the optimal routing solution,” said John Nishimoto, senior vice president of product, strategy and marketing at Windstream Wholesale. “Our initial deal facilitated the customer’s success and enabled us to bring these new data centers on-net. Leveraging different paths for the two routes enhances the value proposition and positions Windstream Wholesale as a one-stop-shop for diverse multi-vendor route solutions.”

Choosing the Ascent and Stack data center locations also aligns strategically with Windstream Wholesale's objective to expand its network footprint and cater to the demands of its Global Accounts customers - particularly in the financial sector.

“Given the typical involvement of multiple vendors and the importance of diversity, our routing solution stands out as paramount. This enables us to efficiently meet the needs of customers in the Atlanta market and accelerate service turn-up for larger customers, utilizing what we call the ‘fast and flexible’ approach,” said Joe Scattareggia, Windstream Wholesale president.
