LiteScape (News - Alert) Technologies Inc., a provider of unified communications, has announced today that the company is joining the Web 2.0 crowd on BroadSoft Xtended.

An initiative from VoIP application provider, BroadSoft (News - Alert) Inc., BroadSoft Xtended is designed to drive innovative, Web 2.0 applications to end-users of BroadSoft’s BroadWorks® platform.

As a strong player in voice over IP (VoIP) application software, BroadSoft’s BroadWorks VoIP application platform is used by hundreds of telecom service providers to deliver advanced voice features to business and residential customers.

By adding BroadSoft Xtended, the BroadWorks platform becomes infinitely more valuable to service providers and end-users as it integrates voice into popular applications and Web services through application mashups.

By joining the BroadSoft Xtended program, LiteScape is making its OnCast unified communications solution available in the new BroadSoft Xtended Marketplace. This online community allows service providers and end-users to access mashups and other solutions that are integrated with BroadWorks features.

OnCast enables one-touch activation to join or create Web Ex meetings from an IP phone or PC. With OnCast, you can communicate directly from your desktop applications, controlling your phones from your PC in order to collaborate and do business quickly and more efficiently.

As unified communications continues to gain recognition and widespread adoption, the demands within the enterprise are also expanding. The combination of LiteScape and BroadSoft enables the two companies to derive value from the positioning strength of the other.
