Samsung and T-Mobile to Deliver Galaxy S II in Time for Christmas

By Erin Harrison, Executive Editor, Strategic Initiatives

If you are dreaming of a white Christmas, Samsung (News - Alert) and T-Mobile USA will make your holiday wishes come true with its white version of the Galaxy S II.

According to Slashgear, the white version of the phone will support 4G HSPA+ on T-Mobile’s network, as well as offer a 4.52-inch WVGA Super AMOLED Plus touchscreen and a 1.5GHz Snapdragon dual-core processor running Android (News - Alert) 2.3.5 Gingerbread.

Just when the white Galaxy S II will go on sale is still a mystery, the report said, noting that specifics – including pricing – would be forthcoming within the next few weeks.

“Best guess is that it will be in the region of the $229.99 T-Mobile (News - Alert) is currently asking for the black model, though you’ll obviously need to sign up to a two-year agreement for that,” the report said.

In related news, T-Mobile USA recently started selling Samsung's new Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus tablet in stores nationwide, TMCnet reported.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus is powered by Google (News - Alert) Android  3.2 operating system, which is also known as Honeycomb. It weighs 0.77 pounds, runs on a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and offers a USB 2.0 port with a choice of 16 GB or 32 GB memory for storage, and a front-facing 2-megapixel (MP) camera and a back-facing 3 MP camera.

Newsfactor.com’s reporter Mark Long wrote, “Through the addition of Samsung’s updated 7-inch model, T-Mobile will be able to offer customers an entire portfolio of tablets with 7-inch, 9-inch, and 10-inch multi-touch displays.”

The report quoted T-Mobile vice president Jeremy Korst, as saying, “Consumers want a selection of affordable, highly mobile tablets that can deliver the content they want virtually anywhere they go.”
