By Ed Silverstein, TMCnet Contributor

Zenprise (News - Alert) has raised $30 million from private investors in a funding round led by Greylock Partners. Each of Zenprise's existing investors also took part in the investment round, according to a company statement. The money will be used for product development, sales and marketing operations, the company added, as well as supporting overall company “growth.”

“This year has been one of tremendous growth for Zenprise, driven by companies seeking to balance Bring-Your-Own-Device (BYOD) policies with mobile device, application and data security,” Jayaram Bhat, CEO of Zenprise, said in the company statement. “This significant investment led by Greylock is a major validation of Zenprise's strategy and market position. We look forward to expanding our product capabilities, marketing and sales while helping our customers everywhere confidently deploy and leverage mobile computing infrastructures, applications and data.”

In addition, Zenprise has named Asheem Chandna to the Zenprise board of directors. Asheem is a partner at Greylock Partners. He formerly was vice president of business development and product management at Check Point Software (News - Alert).

“The invasion of smartphones and tablets into the enterprise has made secure mobile device management a top priority for IT organizations,” Chandna added in the statement.

The company recently enlarged its California headquarters by adding 24,000-square feet. It also opened an office in Paris, as well as opened sales offices in Florida, Georgia, Illinois, New Jersey, New York, Texas, Washington, Germany, The Netherlands and the United Kingdom, according to TechCrunch.

In other company news, last month Zenprise announced the Zenprise Partner Network, according to a report from TMCnet.

The Zenprise Partner Network lets businesses protect their enterprises, the company explains. It also lets providers offer Zenprise mobile device management solutions including Zenprise MobileManager and Zencloud, TMCnet said.

In a related matter, Forrester (News - Alert) Research has estimated that the size of the market for mobile device management will increase from $3.9 billion to about $6.6 billion in 2015, according to TMCnet.
