Cable Companies Can Survive - Time Warner Cable Business Shows Us How

By Susan J. Campbell, TMCnet Contributing Editor

The demand for instant connections in communications and online is driving great opportunities for companies well-established in delivering content. The challenge for these companies, however, has been the ability to be agile enough to change with the latest innovations and shifting trends. A number of cable companies, for instance, have struggled to stay afloat as others recognized the direction of the market and led the way.

Time Warner (News - Alert) Cable Business has long been focused on leveraging its brand to stay abreast of market trends and remain profitable. The company continues to dominate the market as the largest provider of video, high-speed data and voice services in the U.S. Businesses of all sizes have access to video, voice and data services, as well as managed applications, cloud-enabled hosting and cell tower backhaul services to wireless carriers.

Employing more than 50,000 people across the U.S. and serving customers in 29 states, Time Warner Cable continues to stand out in a crowded marketplace. To expand on its presence and its focus on innovation in the future, the company was on hand at this year’s ITEXPO in Anaheim. Sales Manager, Peter Perdikakis joined Diana Bishop in the TMC (News - Alert) newsroom to talk about innovations in the cloud.

As companies are increasingly turning to hosted solutions as a way to meet their business process needs, providers like Time Warner Cable Business are stepping up to the plate with a single solution that provides everything a company needs to stay connected. The opportunity to streamline operations for clients goes beyond implementation and support, allowing these companies to focus on just one provider and one bill. The trend toward ease of application and overall management continues to create opportunities for Time Warner Cable Business.

According to Perdikakis, the trends continue to lead to the cloud. He explains, “You can see the people providing some type of cloud services, but I see small to large being able to get all those services and have someone take care of them for them. We basically are on the top of them. Second largest cable company in the US. We want to make sure customers that we have now know we have the ability to provide them with what they need or add to their services without having to go to another provider.”

This single-source option is a must-have for a number of companies in the marketplace. To learn more, check out the interview below:
