Dialogic Talks WebRTC, NFV at ITEXPO

By Stefania Viscusi, Assignment Desk Editor

Dialogic (News - Alert) is a company well-known in the industry for providing application developers and service providers with better performance and enabling communications media processing.

The company has spent years developing and offering these solutions and is still on the cusp of an industry full of innovation.

Tim Moynihan (News - Alert), vice president of marketing for Dialogic, spoke with TMC’s Erik Linask about all of the exciting things happening at Dialogic including trends in NFV, WebRTC and investments in the service provider space. As the industry is maturing, “It’s a really fun place to be right now,” Moynihan said.

When it comes to the maturation of NFV that is happening right now, Moynihan said the company is seeing this trend happening on a global scale.

“At Dialogic we have a number of customers who are at different phases of deployment – from proof of concept to actual deployments. They are all looking to bring together solutions that are on a virtualized, open platform so they can drive differentiation, drive business and ultimately keep down costs.”

To help with this, Moynihan said the company remains agile and flexible so they are able to build these apps. And it’s not just happening in North America. “Dialogic has sales offices across the world, and we’re seeing these deployments happening around the world.”

The other really big trend right now in the tech space is WebRTC. With all of the hype and talk about the extreme benefits this technology could provide in so many industries, it’s hard to ignore.

Commenting with his thoughts on where WebRTC will ultimately end up, Moynihan said that people are just now starting to figure out what value it brings and how to deliver it.

Many companies are thinking it’s a cool technology and if the competition has it, then ultimately others will want it as well. What’s most important is how it helps to differentiate the customer experience.

Still though, Moynihan said, many are now on a quest to find out how they can introduce this innovation via a bridge from their legacy infrastructure that already is providing the customer care and other applications where WebRTC would be used.

“It’s going to happen,” Moynihan said, “People are going to figure this out. It’s a matter of when, not if.”
