Comings and Goings: Tech Execs on the Move

By Mae Kowalke, TMCnet Contributor

There were plenty of executive movement among tech firms this week. Let’s review the headlines.

First, Hipcricket Inc., a mobile advertising and marketing company based in Bellevue, Wash., promoted its former senior vice president of business development, Alan Sultan, to chief strategy officer. With the company since the beginning of January, 2012, Sultan has 20 years of experience leveraging emerging technologies.

Sultan "brings the right talents, experiences and leadership to this new role which will help to drive our future corporate direction and thought-leadership in the mobile advertising and marketing space," noted Doug Stovall, the chief operating officer for the company.

Read more about Hipcricket’s plans for Sultan by reading the full report from earlier this week.

Another Washington tech firm, this one the giant of Redmond, also saw some movement this week. After the conclusion of its recent CEO search, which ultimately ended with the selection of Satya Nadella at CEO, board member and Seagate (News - Alert) SEO Stephen Luczo announced that he would step down from Microsoft’s board.

The resignation by Luczo comes somewhat unexpectedly amid the highest Microsoft (News - Alert) stock price since 2000, which was at about $40 a share this week. With the stock price at that high, some wonder why the board seems to be in flux currently.

Read more about what Luczo’s departure means for Microsoft by reading our report on the resignation.

While Microsoft lost a board member, this week Intellinote gained two executives. The cloud workspace provider based near the other Washington, in Reston, Va., this week added Mohan Kompella as vice president of product marketing and Ronen Vengosh, vice president of alliances and business development.

Kompella has an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and has previous experience as VP of strategy and technology at Softential, where he was responsible for the company's go to market strategy, strategic partnerships, corporate strategy and planning. Vengosh has an MBA from UCLA's Anderson School of Management as well as a law degree from Tel-Aviv University, and among past positions he’s worked as the VP of marketing and business development at PureWave Networks.

They will be using their experience in B2B technology marketing and business development to further the company's growth, and you can learn more about the direction of Intellinote in our report.

Elsewhere in the tech industry, long island’s premier carrier-neutral Meet Me Room for network interconnection and colocation, 1025Connect, this week announced that it has hired Milton Koropshinsky as its director of operations. With more than 25 years of experience in the telecom industry, Koropshinsky will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the well-known colocation facility in Westbury, N.Y. He also will take on additional responsibilities as they arise.

Finally, this week U.K.-based Rostrvm (News - Alert) Solutions announced that Mike Boyle has moved from interim to permanent operations and service manager for the company. Rostrvm, a developer of contact center software applications, said that Boyble will focus on achieving its service delivery goals with the new appointment.
