By Susan J. Campbell, TMCnet Contributing Editor
May is a busy month for Cavium as the provider of semiconductor products designed to enable intelligent processing for communications, networking and the digital home, demonstrated its solutions for the secure cloud at Interop 2012.

To get the latest news from the company, TMC (News - Alert) invited Steve Klinger, Director, Product Line Management Cavium, into the newsroom. Check out the full conversation and the latest happenings by accessing this video in full.

Cavium set up shop with its PACE partners to demonstrate its high performance solutions designed specifically for the secure cloud, networking, enterprise, data center, network security equipment and 3G/4G wireless infrastructure. Cavium offered its OCTEON Fusion and NITROX processors, adapters and TurboDPI software at the event.

The OCTEON Processor (News - Alert) Family is made up of multi-core processors that deliver performance and power-efficient scalability, designed into a number of leading platforms throughout the global market, and across all major networking OEMs.

Likewise, OCTEON Fusion Processors extend the OCTEON line into fully integrated radio access devices using a combination of MIPS64 and multi-protocol baseband cores. The NITROX Processor Family is positioned as best in class for security applications. The NEURON Search processors aim to deliver high performance and low power L2-L4 network search.

Cavium PACE Partner Solutions is the company’s extensive ecosystem of partner companies offering software and hardware solutions based on Cavium technology. Partners have the opportunity to demonstrate their own offerings based on Cavium technologies at the Cavium booth.

Advantech (News - Alert), ENEA, Kontron and Lauterbach were on hand at Interop, touting the capabilities of Cavium technologies and their plans for expanding innovation in the market in the future.

Cavium announced earlier this month, initial shipments of its OCTEON Fusion small cell base station-on-a-chip family for Telecom Equipment Manufacturers. Touted as the industry’s most powerful base station-on-a-chip, this fully integrated small cell SoC provides up to four times the computing performance of alternative solutions.
