Aerospace giant Boeing (News - Alert) will be using a managed print services (MPS) strategy from Xerox to implement faster and more efficient ways of managing documents at the company's U.S. offices. The six-year Enterprise Print Services (EPS) contract will have Xerox consolidate devices like printers, copiers and fax machines for Boeing.
Xerox will also design a strategy for the company for the best printing options based on price, energy efficiency and ink use. An MPS strategy will aid Boeing in meeting its environmental sustainability goals to reduce usage of paper and power as well as landfill waste.
Employees will also be assisted in adapting to more efficient technology and work processes through the use of change management programs. Xerox's mobile print solution is also on the radar for future implementation, which will allow Boeing's mobile workforce to print securely from any device, at any time and from anywhere without the need to download software, map to a printer or boot up laptops.
Businesses of all sizes may benefit from the Xerox MPS offerings as a means to simplify the way work gets done. The solutions let employees spend less time managing documents and therefore more time focusing on their core business. Xerox integrates MPS solutions with customers' IT infrastructures to help organize information intelligently from both paper and electronic sources.
"This partnership will strengthen our ability to provide best-in-class print services to our employees and customers," said Ted Colbert, vice president, Boeing IT Infrastructure. "Additionally, the newer technologies and improved services Xerox provides will help reduce IT costs while maintaining our commitment to an environmentally friendly workplace."
With sales near $23 billion, Xerox is the leading business process and document management company in the world. MPS services simplify work processes for small to large sized global enterprises and Xerox also offers business process outsourcing and IT outsourcing services. These include data processing, healthcare solutions, HR benefits management, finance support, transportation solutions and CRM service for both commercial and government organizations.
"Boeing wanted a strategic partner to both innovate the way they do business and save money," said Kevin Warren, president, U.S. Client Operations, Xerox. "We responded with an MPS plan that serves their specific needs for advanced security, environmentally sensitive work strategies and simplified ways to manage both printed and digital information."
