UniData Demos New SIP Compliant Wireless Video Phone

IP communications solutions provider UniData Communications (UDC) offers high quality IP handsets that promise to deliver a better, more enjoyable communications experience.



 
Their wireless IP phones offer a number of VoIP functions in a solution that doesn’t require wires, a headset or a PC to attain.
 
At the upcoming NXTcomm (News - Alert) 08 in Las Vegas, the company is slated to demonstrate its all new offering, the WVP-8000 at Booth #SU4211.
 
The WVP-8000 is a Wi-Fi video phone that supports business-quality live video from anywhere a user is located. This means users can take part in a video conference without being restricted to their desk or a dedicated video conference room.
 
With face-to-face video capabilities provided by the video handheld, it's possible to have more personal communications that lessen misunderstandings which can occur with just voice, text or email messaging.
 
WVP-8000 is SIP complaint and includes a wide range of voice and video codecs, such as g.722.2 and H.264 as well as WMM, for excellent interoperability with 3rd party equipment.
 
To offer users an interruption-free communications experience, the WVP-8000 also includes a video encode / decode accelerator. This helps prevent interruption caused by hardware-generating bottlenecks on various multimedia streaming services and, in anticipation of future data services, enables high data throughput in the Wi-Fi network for multimedia data service, such as video streaming.WVP-8000. The offering also protects user information with the latest 802.11 i, WPA-2 personal and enterprise for wireless networking area and secure RTP for wired areas.
 
The company also told TMCnet in an exclusive interview that they would be previewing their all new SIP-based 802.11b/g Wi-Fi phone WPU-7700 at NxtComm. The device not only includes a number of standard and advanced features sets, it is also capable of transmitting high-quality voice and includes a power saving function for longer battery life.
