ELERTS Wins Airport Security Shark Tank
ELERTS Corp, the leading provider of See Something Say Something mobile
apps for transportation agencies, was named the winner of Airport
Shark Tank at the 17th Annual AAAE /
TSA
/ DHS
Aviation Security Summit in Arlington, Virginia. During Airport Shark
Tank, five innovators presented their airport security products on
stage. Presenters were judged by four leaders in the airport industry,
along with hundreds of airport and government security executives who
voted for the most innovative new airport security technology solution.
ELERTS presented its See Something Say Something mobile app as a key
component to the airport threat and security ecosystem. ELERTS app helps
protect against internal and external threats in public and sterile
areas of an airport. Whereas the use case for ELERTS See Say app at
transit agencies involves passengers being the primary app users, at
airports the app is targeted for use by badged airport employees,
vendors and service providers who are most familiar with the airport and
who recognize when something looks out of place or suspicious.
ELERTS allows multiple entities in airports to contribute to the
intelligence of an airports' security center - empowering people to
easily and anonymously report security concerns to police. Calling 911
is a good solution for criticl situations, and K9s serve a single
important purpose - to sniff and detect explosive substances. While
people cannot smell explosive traces in the air, they can and do notice
many different types of threats, and report them using ELERTS' app.
"People see things that just don't look right - especially at airports.
But people are in a hurry - they don't really have the time or desire to
call 911 on a recorded line and go through a line of questioning. With
ELERTS, the public can easily report a security concern in less than 20
seconds - helping the police, TSA or other security entities - and then
be on their way," said Ed English, CEO of ELERTS. "ELERTS allows users
to anonymously report who, what where and when of a questionable
situation. With 16 transit agency customers in North America and 100%
customer retention, the expansion to airports was a natural step,
especially as many of our transit agencies connect directly to airports."
ELERTS' patented integration with video surveillance systems finds the
needle in the haystack - the one camera nearby a reported incident.
ELERTS app is used daily to report a variety of concerns such as
unattended bags, explosive-looking devices, harassments and assaults,
vandalism, robberies and more. Airport Shark Tank judges saw the
applicability of the app in airports where TSA, K9s and other security
arms simply can't have their eyes on everything at all times.
