With more than 50 years of industry experience (that’s a half a century, y’all; it’s neat to put things in perspective), Mitel continues to help businesses and service providers connect, collab and ultimately provide all-around better customer experiences. Renowned for its seamless business communications, more than 5,000 partners (and 35 million global users) leverage Mitel’s (News - Alert) comprehensive services in 100+ countries. (Read on here.)
Specifically, businesses can enhance their communications experiences with Mitel and third-party apps; we’re talking improved analytics, campaign and workforce management tools, conferencing and file sharing, rich PBX (News - Alert) features and advanced call controls, and much more.
And in the vein of “more,” Mitel definitely has more in store. Just last week, the company announced the appointment of Bull Dunnion as its Chief Information Security Officer (CISO).
As of this publication, Dunnion will reportedly oversee Mitel’s overarching information security strategy; the company’s security architecture and its standards compliance, as well as how it assesses, develops and implements best-possible industry-wide security practices.
With more than 20 years of experience under his belt, Dunnion brings to Mitel an extensive knowledge base of IT, cybersecurity and risk management frameworks.
Jamshid Rezaei, Mitel’s Chief Information Officer (CIO), had this to say:
“Security is at the forefront of everything we do at Mitel. In today's world, providing secure, reliable, and compliant digital tools, including communications and collaboration solutions, for our employees, partners, and customers is more crucial than ever. Bill’s proven leadership, combined with his considerable experience in implementing and operationalizing cybersecurity policies and procedures, is a great asset for Mitel."
Dunnion, who also held IT and cybersecurity leadership positions at Calian Limited, 2Keys Security Solutions, and Bell Canada (News - Alert), of course added his two cents:
“I am very excited to be joining Mitel to take on this important role. The security threats that businesses face today are ever-changing, which makes it critical for organizations to implement agile solutions that maintain the confidentiality, residency, and protection of the data that employees and end-users rely on. I am eager to work with the combined Mitel and Unify (News - Alert) teams to provide a cohesive and comprehensive security program for all our stakeholders.”
