ThreatMetrix and Visa Expand Relationship to Deliver Intelligent Authentication Across the Customer Journey
ThreatMetrix®,
The Digital Identity Company®, today announced an expansion
of its ongoing relationship with Visa, under which Visa will make
ThreatMetrix technologies available through the newly
unveiled Visa ID Intelligence platform. This fresh offering from
Visa will deliver a comprehensive suite of authentication methods from
one easy-to-implement hub, providing simplified access to many of the
latest innovations in the field.
Visa ID Intelligence offers a curated selection of cutting-edge
technologies to overcome the challenges of implementing a complex
technology stack across multiple vendors. The aim is to help Visa's
enterprise customers accurately authenticate their users with the least
amount of intrusion - enabling consumers to transact online and access
banking services in an easy and secure way across desktop and mobile
devices.
"Every day individuals are setting up new accounts, logging in and
carrying out transactions across multiple sites and apps. Ensuring these transactions are being carried out by legitimate customers and not
cybercriminals is of paramount importance," says Mark Nelsen, senior
vice president of risk and authentication products at Visa. "At the same
time, consumers expect easier, more convenient ways to pay. That is why
Visa is working with innovative companies such as ThreatMetrix to
deliver seamless authentication to support the growth of digital
payments."
Visa is leveraging the ThreatMetrix Dynamic Decision Platform™, which
features advanced behavioral analytics and embedded machine learning
capabilities to deliver insight into the digital identity of users.
"ThreatMetrix is delighted to be working with Visa on this new
initiative, which enables digital businesses to tap into cutting-edge
authentication technologies," says Alisdair Faulkner, chief products
officer at ThreatMetrix. "This expands our long-term relationship with a
highly-valued customer, where we collaborate on the Visa Customer
Authentication Service and Visa Checkout to accelerate secure digital
transactions."
ThreatMetrix has been working with Visa for several years, augmenting
Visa's network-level data with anonymized, globally shared intelligence
from the ThreatMetrix Digital Identity Network®, which
analyzes 75 million daily transactions. This intelligence helps Visa
assess online identities in a way that is totally invisible to the user,
reducing reliance on passwords and authentication methods that introduce
friction. This approach has been deployed globally to secure domestic
and cross-border transactions, improving overall card use while reducing
fraud.
