Tyler Technologies Unveils Connected Communities Vision at Largest-Ever User Conference
Tyler
Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) welcomed more than 5,000 public
sector leaders to its largest-ever client conference earlier this month,
where clients had the opportunity to share ideas with their peers, ask
questions of Tyler product experts and receive hands-on training for
Tyler's products and solutions.
Tyler introduced its Connected Communities initiative in the opening
session, with a keynote message by Chief Strategy Officer Bruce Graham
and a live demonstration from Chief Technology Officer Jeff Green.
Graham described a connected community as one where government
organizations are connected to other jurisdictions and to their citizens
through a thriving digital infrastructure. Tyler is already beginning to
make this vision a reality by integrating various solutions within
jurisdictions and featuring an easy-to-navigate and uniform interface.
Common foundational services will unlock key capabilities across the
entire Tyler suite of applications, providing services such as
streamlined payment processing, single login, and personalized portals.
In his presentation, Graham said, "The problem today is that local
government agencies are disconnected from one another. Our vision is to
pull information and data from different agencies into something that
can be shared across city, county and regional lines."
This concept is made possible by Tyler dataXchange, a crucial prt of
making Connected Communities a reality. Because Tyler is solely focused
on providing software solutions for the public sector, Tyler believes it
is uniquely positioned to be a creative force for change in local
government and how it operates.
"We always enjoy the personal interactions we have with a large part of
our client base at Connect each year," said John S. Marr Jr., Tyler's
chairman and CEO. "It was especially exciting for us this year to
introduce Connected Communities to the clients who will be important
partners for us as we implement this vision over the next several years.
Connecting local governments more closely to each other and to their
citizens through technology will help them run even more efficiently
and, ultimately, better serve their constituents. We are eager to see
this vision come to life with continuous advancements in our solutions
and services."
Attendees were also treated to a keynote from Guy Kawasaki, chief
evangelist for Canva, celebrated Silicon Valley area speaker, author,
and entrepreneur. Kawasaki's inspiring address focused on how to set
oneself apart from the group to be truly innovative, giving advice on
how to stay relevant and how to navigate today's business world.
The keynote presentations were followed by three days of more than 1,000
training sessions across multiple educational tracks. Sessions included
presentations and discussions on industry topics, such as security,
citizen access to information, cloud solutions, and mobile applications.
This year's Connect featured attendees from all 50 states, with 27
clients from Canada and six from Guam. Connect 2018 is scheduled for
April 22-25 in Boston, Massachusetts.
