Living in a One-Button World: Silicon Valley Forum announces Internet of Things conference "Brave New Connected World"
Silicon
Valley Forum today announced their December 8th
conference "Brave
New Connected World: The Internet of Everything" to be held at
GSVlabs in Redwood City, California. Conference speakers include Dr.
Jeffery Torrance, vice president, business development, Qualcomm (News - Alert)
Technologies, Inc., a subsidiary of Qualcomm Incorporated; Charlie
Isaacs, VP and CTO of Salesforce; Erik Ekudden, VP and head of
technology strategies at Ericsson (News - Alert); and Monisha Perkash, CEO and
cofounder of Lumo Bodytech, Other represented companies include August,
Silver Springs Network, NVIDIA, and BMW, among many others.
Stated Silicon Valley Forum CEO Adiba Barney, "We're living at an
incredible point in history-we're already thriving in a smarter, safer,
and more connected world even as it's being created. It's exciting to
watch the Internet of Things unfold, and we can't wait to hear from an
exceptional group of innovators working to make it happen."
In an increasingly data-driven world, technologists are tasked with
turning an enormous amount of data into its own dynamic workforce-hence
the Internet of Everything, where machines are as responsive to each
other as they are to the people who use them. Conference topics will
include smart homes, the wireless evolution, wearables, connected cars,
and more. Sanjeev Athalye, senior director, product management, Qualcomm
Technologies, Inc., will deliver a presentation on Qualcomm
Technologies' efforts to expand 4G LTE (News - Alert) to new applications and support a
massive number of connected things, pioneering new technologies that
will establish the foundation for a unified, more capable 5G platform
for the next decade.
"The industry is preparing for a new phase of growth, the Internet of
Things, in which tens of billions of devices, machines, and things will
be connected wirelessly to the cloud and each other," said Jeffery
Torrance, vice president, busines development, Qualcomm Technologies,
Inc. "The transition to this new era of hyper-connectivity is happening
now, but is still largely an ad-hoc adaptation of existing technologies.
The exponential growth over the next few years will bring exponential
complexity, and we believe this requires a scalable, intelligent, and
converged connectivity fabric to handle the extreme variations and
requirements of this new era."
"Brave
New Connected World" will open for registration at 8:30 a.m., and
conclude at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are available at the event page, and will
also be sold at the door (space permitting; small price increase will
apply). Details, the agenda, and the full list of speakers can be found
