reportedly announced that it will demonstrate Q-VUE, a solution that allows wireless carriers to measure video-based quality of experience at the Mobile World Congress (News
) 2010 in Barcelona.
Company sources added that executives from Avvasi will host the demonstration and also throw light on the challenges faced by mobile carriers and how to overcome them and leverage the demand for mobile video from consumers.
“It is critical that mobile network operators understand video demographics and subscriber QoE in an environment where resources are scarce and dynamic,” said Mate Prgin, president and CEO of Avvasi. “Without understanding subscriber QoE, operators will find it increasingly difficult to manage network investments and, ultimately, subscriber churn.”
Mobile video is gaining importance with fast growth in mobile traffic. Cisco (News
) recently released data which showed that 64 percent of mobile traffic will be video within three years time. This results in growing demand for bandwidth and a demand for devices and solutions to be supported by operators who have to deliver optimized services to subscribers.
Avvasi’s Q-VUE solution provides complete and comprehensive understanding of operators’ capabilities to provide video services for consumers in accordance with QoE expectations. The solution can identify mobile video traffic patterns and subscriber QoE, eliminating the need for drive testing.
“By employing Q-VUE, operators get access to meaningful data and analysis to ensure that investment and operational improvement decisions are well-qualified and supported,” said Michael Gallant, vice president of software engineering and chief technology officer of Avvasi. “Operators can then be confident of delivering a high QoE and ultimately monetizing mobile video,” he emphasized.
Q-VUE is a unique solution designed for the identification of mobile video traffic patterns and resultant subscriber QoE. Q-VUE provides mobile operators with actionable information to target and prioritize resources for improving subscriber experience besides minimizing optimization and upgrade costs.
Avvasi enables mobile carriers to measure, enhance and derive revenue from mobile video services.
