High Density Small-Cell Backhaul Solution Launched by 3Roam

3Roam recently confirmed that it will launch the AERO Duo, which is a 1024QAM Operator solution for a smooth migration to packet backhaul. The company will showcase the AERO Due at the Mobile World Congress (News - Alert) that takes place in in Barcelona, Spain, February 27 - March 1st, 2012. The company is a specialist in high-capacity wireless backhaul.

In a release, Jean-Philippe Fournier, 3Roam VP of Sales and Marketing said, “We see a challenge in Operators expenses for the deployment of LTE (News - Alert) networks. Increasing capacity is of great interest, but of larger importance is the possibility to keep control of spectrum costs. AERO Duo, allowing for up to 30 percent spectrum costs reduction, is the platform of choice for any Operator transitioning to new-generation wireless backhaul.”

The quantity of data that passes through cellular networks continues to expand which means that it is now essential for operators to have a control over spectrum costs. AERO Duo looks to address this need by leveraging its advanced 1024QAM modem, which helps it to push through more traffic into a given radio channel, helping operators to save close to 30 percent in frequency rental costs. AERO Duo addresses bottleneck issues while at the same time offering an innovative option for further backhaul evolutions.

An advanced radio with future-ready capabilities, AERO Duo offers 1024QAM modulation for up to 2Gbps aggregated throughput in a single 1U rack allowing for increased spectrum usage;    zero-downtime adaptive coding and adaptive modulation for increased transmission agility; ultra-compact form factor enabling rack-free installation in urban environment for small-cell backhaul solution; 4 ports Gigabit Ethernet, 1 Fiber SFP for direct LTE eNodeB connectivity;   advanced traffic aggregation (2+0, 3+0, 4+0) through units stacking and native TDM variant available for smooth migration scenarios.
