InterDigital, a developer of fundamental wireless technologies, will be demonstrating technologies that are going to power the wireless networks of the future at the Mobile World Congress 2011. The new innovative technologies can deployed to build efficient mobile devices and wireless networks and offer users a richer multimedia experience.
InterDigital (News - Alert) claimed that its wireless modem design, air interface technology, and end-to-end system architecture have enabled manufacturers to build millions of devices of mobility. The company’s research and development efforts are guided by its vision of tomorrow’s “Network of Networks,” which visualizes the seamless integration of advanced cellular systems with multiple communications networks, which include other air interfaces that intelligently and constantly connect people and things across a myriad of wide, local and personal area networks.
The company opinioned that enabling a world that is seamlessly connected and fully integrated, with billions of subscribers and trillions of connections, represents a huge opportunity for innovations across several key areas such as Ultra-Broadband applications, QoS Flexibility, Security and Privacy, and more.
At the MWC, the company will be presenting its futuristic wireless technologies under the theme “Holistic Bandwidth Technologies,” and demos will feature collaborations with players across the wireless ecosystems. Some of its partners at the demonstrations are going to be Alcatel-Lucent, Attila Technologies, Cinterion (News - Alert), Continuous Computing, Intrinsyc, Option and Tata Elxsi. The company demo also includes presentations about how its advanced technologies can be integrated into third-party products and services for field testing and commercial deployment.
The company’s presentation will include technologies for: Connectivity and Mobility – solutions that are capable of higher throughput and QoS; IP Flow Mobility – intelligent content routing among multiple networks; Dynamic Spectrum Management – for fixing spectrum availability issues by harvesting underutilized spectrum such as TV white space; Beyond LTE (News - Alert) – solutions for advanced LTE networks that can improve connectivity and nullify interference; Machine-to-Machine (M2M) – adding M2M solutions to cellular networks that are also ETSI (News - Alert)-supported standards compliant; and more.
Officials with InterDigital asserted that the MWC is the premier event for the mobile industry and the perfect venue to feature their advanced solutions that address many critical and growing technical challenges spanning the wireless ecosystem. InterDigital’s increasing number of high-caliber technology and product partners illustrates the relevance of its technology and impact on helping to shape the future of wireless.
