Vidyo Showcases Video Conferencing Functionality at CES

Vidyo, a provider of telepresence solutions, has demonstrated its multi-point video conferencing software on Amazon's new Kindle Fire at the CES (News - Alert) ShowStoppers event in Las Vegas. The company’s demonstration included the latest platform support for its VidyoMobile HD video conferencing software client: Android 4.0 'Ice Cream Sandwich' which is currently available on the Samsung (News - Alert) Galaxy Nexus smartphone.

Vidyo press release said the new Android (News - Alert) mobile platform is part of a multi-point, global video conferencing solution which connects a variety of endpoints on iOS and Android devices including Kindle Fire, plus desktops, laptops and room systems.

"Easy-to-use, universal business-to-business communication is the holy grail of enterprise video conferencing," said Ofer Shapiro, CEO and co-founder of Vidyo (News - Alert), in a statement. "Traditionally, the challenge has been interoperability among companies who use different video conferencing vendors and endpoint devices.

“Vidyo's software based approach offers a solution to this problem by providing high definition video conferencing over a multitude of off the shelf devices and interoperability with legacy systems. No other vendor can demonstrate what we are showing today," Shapiro added.

Currently, Vidyo is supporting its customers via the Android 4.0 versions.

Vidyo's recent demonstration highlighted the flexibility and interoperability of its high definition software-based video conferencing solution and featured the VidyoMobile client running on a variety of the iOS and Android tablets and smartphones, including the Kindle Fire, iPad2, iPhone 4S, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, Motorola (News - Alert) Xoom and Samsung Galaxy S II.

Recently, Vidyo announced the first-ever virtualized video conferencing infrastructure that allows service providers to offer unlimited multi-point scalability and low-latency rate matching in order to accelerate the adoption of high-quality, universal video conferencing on any end-point.
