ZyXEL Provides Telcos Service-Ready Solutions at CES 2012
Demonstrating its cloud services, on-demand applications and multiple broadband solutions, ZyXEL Communications (News - Alert) will showcase several forward-looking technologies at CES (News - Alert) 2012, the company has announced.
For its customers, ZyXEL's solutions facilitate faster deployment, easier integration and superior reliability. Its cloud-based services include Video-on-Demand, music downloads and data backup and storage.
Functioning as the subscriber's entertainment and information hub within the digital home, at the center of these services is ZyXEL's NSA310 media server. To deploy their cloud services, this solution provides operators a physical presence within the home, the company stated in a press release.
“We believe cloud-based services will serve as a vital revenue generator for service providers moving forward,” said Brian Feng (News - Alert), senior vice president of ZyXEL in a company press release. “We intend to showcase field-tested solutions for the cloud and on-demand services that will help telcos quickly and cost-effectively deploy similar offerings to their subscribers.”
To deliver home monitoring, surveillance and automation, telehealth, energy conservation and smart metering, the company will also showcase its CPEs that provide on-demand services built on using open specifications based OSGi. Offering greater cost savings and quicker service rollouts for telcos, OSGi modules can be remotely provisioned to ZyXEL CPEs for customizable services without replacing the gateways.
ZyXEL will spotlight its new universal DSL and active fiber CPEs, the P873HNUP Bonded VDSL2 Gateway and the FSG1100 Active Fiber CPE. To demonstrate IPTV (News - Alert) service over IPv6, these multiple edge technologies will be used.
Recently, snom Technology, a provider of business VoIP, and IP communications solutions for businesses, partnered with ZyXEL Communications to deliver end-to-end VoIP solutions for small and medium-size businesses (SMBs).
The companies have also completed an interoperability test, as well as certified ZyXEL Ethernet switches and Snom’s IP communication devices interoperable for a combined business VoIP solution, according to an official announcement from the company.
