Apriva to Bring Presentation on Point of Sale Tech to ITEXPO's M2M Evolution

By Steve Anderson, Contributing TMCnet Writer

Machine to machine (M2M) technology is rapidly gaining ground on a lot of fronts, and with that rise in the sheer number of applications for M2M comes the need for a lot of information about same to help businesses find out which M2M systems will be valuable and useful, and which will only be useful to other industries. The upcoming M2M Evolution event, colocated with ITEXPO (News - Alert), will feature plenty of information about M2M, including a new addition to a panel session in the form of Apriva's director of VAR services, Patricia Heit.

Heit will be involved in a panel session around point-of-sale technology, titled “Consumer Focused M2M Solutions” that will take place on August 27 at 12:45 p.m. The panel will focus primarily on how payments and M2M systems can work together to present a better overall user experience for customers, tackling several sub-topics like security and privacy protection, the use of such technologies with mobile marketing and analytics systems, and several more.

Apriva is already a pretty major name when it comes to the mobile payment space. The company offers a line of payment processing systems, complete with payment terminals that connect to all the major merchant services, as well as secure infrastructure services, mobile gateway services and several others besides.

Apriva's point-of-sale offerings range from wireless terminals to cashless vending transactions, to mobile phones used as payment terminals and even complete wallet and Web payment processing services, which runs the gamut of potential applications for payment systems. Apriva even boasts a software development kit for future applications that may come along, making it a payment processor for all seasons. The company even recently showed off a customer support portal system called ACE, which provides even more use for companies' interactions with customers.

But payment processing alone isn't much good to anyone unless the data involved in such transactions can be correctly secured and kept private from prying eyes. That's why Aptiva also boasts a line of security products—secure mobile communication and user authentication tools, among others—that are both tested with the United States intelligence community as well as certified for use with the United States Department of Defense (DoD). Within this particular slate of offerings is a set of subclasses, ranging from infrastructure tools like enterprise and tenant gateways, to communications tools like Apriva Voice and AprivaMail, to authentication tools like Aptiva Guard and Apriva CSPware.

Heit—and by extension, Apriva—are likely to have a variety of exciting developments to discuss at M2M Evolution, and give attendees plenty of insight when it comes to the mobile payments market and beyond. Those interested in attending M2M Evolution, or the colocated ITEXPO event, will want to be at the Mandalay Bay Casino and Resort August 26-29, and for those who make the trip, a treasure trove of information and networking opportunities will await.
