BrightCom, a Huntington, Calif.-based provider of telepresence and video conferencing solutions, announced that its CEO, Bob McCandless, will present a session on how video conferencing and telepresence are affecting business communication.
The session, called “Adding Video to the Mix,” is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Sept. 2 at Technology Marketing Corporation’s Internet Telephony (News - Alert) Conference and Expo. ITEXPO will take place Sept. 1 to 3 at the Los Angeles Convention Center in Los Angeles, Calif. More than 7,000 attendees are expected at this year’s tradeshow.
During the session, McCandless will present factors driving the short-term and long-term adoption of video in enterprise operations, including the current state of the economy, public health and the growing need for improved communication for geographically dispersed businesses and organizations. McCandless will also explore the future of communication technology and how video conferencing, telepresence and other mediums of video communication will alter the way people interact from their office desktop to their living rooms.
In addition, the presentation will also explore how the concept of using video as a standard communication tool in the office is being adopted in homes, schools and public places.
”ITEXPO (News - Alert) West 2009 has an excellent lineup of keynotes and presenters and I am overjoyed to be a part of it,” said Bob McCandless,” CEO of BrightCom, told TMCnet in a interview. “The session “Adding Video to the Mix” will be an important exploration of how businesses are coping with economic pressures by implementing different solutions of video and telepresence communication such as desktop, conference room and telepresence suites. This session will show how telepresence is becoming a standard in the enterprise world and will soon become a part of our every day lives.”
While video conferencing is not a new concept for business communication, using it as a constant medium for communication and surpassing the telephone, or e-mail is, McCandless said.
“This session is a great fit for businesses that understand the benefits of video conferencing, but want to know how to get the most value out of the technology,” McCandless said. “With newer and faster networks and external economic pressures such as the fluctuating economy, it is the right time to empower businesses with the idea that utilizing telepresence and video conferencing to minimize the challenges of phone, e-mail and in-person meetings can improve their company’s overall communication.”
“BrightCom is widely recognized and respected as an industry leader, and I am confident that our attendees will appreciate and value the opportunity to hear his perspective on video conferencing and telepresence,” said TMC CEO and Conference Chairman, Rich Tehrani (News - Alert) said.
Also at the event, BrightCom plans to launch the first of its new line of high-end telepresence solutions Sept. 2 to 3 in booth #202. Booth visitors can experience the company’s integration of collaborative telepresence, a solution that combines high resolution video and audio broadcasts with interactive data collaboration.
