Sangoma Adds Analog Support to NetBorder Express 2.0 Gateway

By Greg Galitzine, Group Editorial Director

At ITEXPO (News - Alert), Sangoma Technologies Corporation today announced that the first upgrade to its NetBorder VoIP Gateway Cards is now in Beta. Additions to NetBorder Express Version 2.0 include support for analog cards and a dynamic Web interface designed to handle tasks associated with installation, configuration, and SIP to TDM gateway management.

In response to customer requests, Sangoma addressed the needs of developers who are designing applications for smaller businesses with fewer than 16 seats, where there may not be T1 or E1 utilization.

In a statement Sangoma said these NetBorder OEMs have been awaiting the new features, and beta testers are ready to pass on the value to their customers.

The new gateway is enables the deployment of SIP-based IPBXs and IVRs.

Voxeo (News - Alert) CEO Jonathan Taylor is excited by the new offering from Sangoma.

“We have been eagerly waiting for the addition of analog support in NetBorder Express to complement Prophecy, our SIP-based VoiceXML (News - Alert) platform,” said Taylor. “The compact physical form factor, the high-quality SIP gateway software, and the fact that now both digital and analog telephony interfaces are supported make NetBorder Express Gateway (News - Alert) 2.0 the obvious choice for our turnkey IVR solutions.”

Voxeo offers a development platform known as Prophecy to allow developers to create innovative IVR, VoIP, outbound notification, unified communications and a new generation of SIP-powered solutions.

Developers can use NetBorder gateways on their communications platforms for SIP-based applications such as iPBX, IVRs, and Conferencing Servers.

Version 2.0 is expected to be available by early spring 2009. Watch for an announcement on general availability.
