Octasic Announces Mass Customization Program at ITEXPO for Vocallo Media Gateway

Media processing solutions firm Octasic (News - Alert) announced at the INTERNET TELEPHONY Conference & EXPO West 2008 in Los Angeles a program that provides technology and licensing options to carrier infrastructure and enterprise equipment manufacturers looking to design the right products with the right price points to ensure competitiveness in a maturing VoIP market.


The program, One Design, allows product designers to purchase Vocallo – as a single media gateway technology -- with multiple hardware, firmware and software “switches” that can be applied, as needed, through a quick and flexible software licensing policy, according to the company.

 

The idea is it provides vendors a way to scale its product in terms of channel support through a simple software license purchased online to upgrade the product. The online segment also can be used to add new features, such as video support, a software license makes it possible in seconds.
