Aculab Brings Hope to Enterprises with the ApplianX DPNSS-to-Q.SIG Gateway

In a bid to make it possible for enterprises to extend the life of their DPNSS-based PBX and still make use of new IP-PBX solutions, Aculab (News - Alert) has announced the release of the ApplianX DPNSS-to-Q.SIG Gateway.
The new gateway meets the demands of enterprises looking to leverage DPNSS supplementary services in an IP environment by providing full support for supplementary services as well as making it easy and cost effective to realize a DPNSS-to-VoIP migration strategy.
According to the company, these benefits are provided as each gateway converts up to 60 channels of DPNSS-to-Q.SIG.
“New PBX (News - Alert) systems are normally IP centric and do not support the DPNSS PBX interworking protocol. However many allow Q.SIG connections, which can perform all the necessary supplementary service mappings – this is where the ApplianX DPNSS-to-Q.SIG Gateway (News - Alert) comes into play,” explained Faye McClenahan, Head of Strategic Marketing at Aculab.
To make it possible for enterprises to continue utilizing the supplementary services they desire, the gateway handles all necessary translations.
According to a company press release, "Aculab’s ApplianX gateway bridges between the Q.SIG connections of IP PBXs such as Avaya (News - Alert) Communications Manager and Cisco Call Manager and the DPNSS extensions on legacy DPNSS PBXs from Avaya, Ericsson, Siemens and Nortel."
Also, the ApplianX gateway supports the ability for users to disable mapping of each function if it is connected to a PBX that doesn’t support some of the supplementary services.
Aculab is advising that customers pre-order now to ensure delivery for November/December based on the interest they have already received.
