Norwalk, CT, [April 23, 2007] —TMC (News - Alert) has announced that Digium’s Kevin P. Fleming, Senior Software Engineer and co-maintainer of Asterisk, will deliver a keynote address at the 4th Annual Communications Developer Conference (formerly known as the VoIP Developer Conference).

The Communications Developer Conference (www.commdeveloper.com) takes place May 15-17, 2007 at the Santa Clara Hyatt Regency in Santa Clara, Calif. Fleming will speak at 10:55 a.m., Thursday, May17. His address is open to all registered attendees.

“Digium’s (News - Alert) open source technology has played a key role in the development of IP Communications systems to date,” said Rich Tehrani, TMC president and conference chairman. “And because Asterisk is so accessible, I believe it will be just as important in our industry’s bright future. That is why we are thrilled to have Kevin Fleming taking part in Communications Developer Conference.”

Fleming has 20+ years of programming experience, with every major programming language. Industry experience includes traditional client/server database applications, open source messaging and networking, mainframe operating systems and warehouse automation. His primary skill is producing solutions that use resources effectively through problem analysis and solution design

A member of the worldwide open source community for over five years, Fleming has contributed to the Linux kernel, Exim SMTP MTA and OpenVPN network tunneling package. He fervently believes that open source is the “right” way to do things and uses open source solutions whenever possible.

“The Communications Developer Conference has proven to be a valuable avenue for us to meet with partners, as well as open source and IP developers,” said Bill Miller, vice president of product management and marketing at Digium. “At a time when industry interest in Digium Asterisk is at an all-time high, the TMC forum puts us in touch with people making innovative use of Asterisk and bringing it to new markets.”

Communications Developer Conference is the only event focusing on the needs of both companies and individuals creating new applications for broadband networks. The event features three days of educational sessions, keynote speeches from industry leaders, two networking receptions, and an exhibit hall with as many as 50 exhibiting companies.

Registration for the show is now open. Anyone interested may register by visiting http://www.commdeveloper.com. Exhibit space and sponsorships are still available. Interested vendors should contact Dave Rodriguez: [email protected] or (203) 852-6800, ext. 146.
