Tekelec to Present and Exhibit at Broadband Traffic Management in London

By Sujata Garud, TMCnet Contributor

Tekelec announced that it will present and exhibit at Broadband Traffic Management, held Nov. 16 through Nov. 18 in London. Susie Kim Riley (News - Alert), chief marketing officer, will present "Analyze, Decide, Act: Using Network Feedback and Policy Control to Maximize Use of the Network" on Nov. 16.

Riley is expected to discuss what operators need to start thinking about as they move into the next phase of policy deployments to fully leverage and monetize network assets. Riley's presentation will examine the meaning of "real-time feedback-based network control,” a key capability that helps enable intelligent congestion management and quality of experience. In addition, the presentation will also provide insights on the types of future services network feedback and policy control could enable.

Further, Randy Fuller (News - Alert), director of business planning, will be a panellist discussing "To What Extent Can Operators Gain Visibility of How Different Applications Interact with the Network and What is the Best Way to Reassert Control?" on Nov. 16 Tekelec (News - Alert) also will be located at Stand 6 throughout the event.

Riley comes to Tekelec through the acquisition of policy control leader Camiant in May of 2010. Since founding Camiant (News - Alert) in 2003, Riley has been well recognized as the thought leader and key advocate for policy control.

Tekelec's Camiant Policy Management solution offers a comprehensive platform for Policy and Charging Rules Function (PCRF) that gives operators new abilities to reduce network operating costs while adding new revenue streams through next generation data services, which include tiered data plans, VoIP and Video over IP application differentiation, and service personalization. The platform has 44 customers across the globe, including deployments with 32 Tier-One operators.

Recently, Tekelec won the Light Reading Leading Lights "Best Deal Maker" 2010 award for its dual acquisitions of Camiant and Blueslice (News - Alert) Networks in May 2010. The award is given "to the company that has consistently demonstrated good timing, judgment, and execution in high-profile acquisitions, partnerships, joint-ventures, and other multi-company financial arrangements."
