Citel Webinar Will Discuss Legacy Handsets in a VoIP Environment

TMC's (News - Alert) very own Stefania Viscusi will participate in an upcoming Webinar sponsored by Citel, designed to discuss legacy handsets in a VoIP environment.

Much is being made of the opportunities presented by Voice over Internet Protocol and its impact on the telecommunications industry, Webinar officials say, adding that, "many people have already migrated but many more have concerns that need to be addressed."

Naturally there are many costs involved in a VoIP migration, and these will be dealt with during the Webinar. Citel will discuss those issues and as well as its VoIP migration platform, the Portico TVA, which company officials describe as "a platform that enables companies to migrate to VoIP by using their existing cabling infrastructure and business phones while doing away with their PBX."

Presenting along with Viscusi will be Ian Gomm, vice president of Sales and Marketing, Citel Technologies (News - Alert).

Gomm has been involved in the telecom industry for more than 20 years, starting out in a Centrex environment; he has been involved with telecoms in various ways as the industry has gone through numerous iterations over that time period. Ian was appointed VP, Operations of Citel in late May 2008 following the acquisition of the business, helping guide the company through its transitional phase.

He was appointed to his current role early in 2010.

Andrew Davies will also present. The Senior Sales Engineer for Citel Technologies U.K., has been in the communications industry since the 1980s, having worked in the development and introduction of new products with a number of telecoms startups, then joining Ericsson (News - Alert) for ten years following an acquisition.

Davies joined Citel in 2002 and has seen the company’s flagship Portico TVA range through from concept, into early trials and now to maturity.
