Mobile Edge, a company that develops laptop bags and accessories, has stepped into the Bluetooth accessory arena, the company said in a Thursday announcement.

 

In line with this, Mobile Edge introduced two Bluetooth products: Bluetooth headsets and a Bluetooth Handsfree car speaker kit.

 

Bluetooth devices from Mobile Edge are aimed at meeting the present-day demand of its customers. The hands-free solution, according to Mobile Edge, provides a convenient way of communicating while driving.

 

Mobile Edge introduced two Bluetooth Headsets: PowerSmart and ComfortFit. Both of them are designed with maximum noise suppression and echo cancellation ability. Other notable features include auto power-save mode and gel-finger ear grips.

 

An attractive feature of the ComfortFit headset is the patented soft gel-like earpiece that molds to the shape inside the user’s ear. This custom-fit feature would attract more customers to it because they can wear the headsets for long hours without irritation to ears. The headsets offer five hours of talk time and 150 hours of standby time.

 

The PowerSmart headset has already been awarded the 2009 iF Product Design Award from the International Forum Design Organization based in Hanover, Germany, Mobile Edge said.

Mobile Edge’s Handsfree car speaker kit allows users to connect to any Bluetooth phone instantly with hands-free functionality. They also include full duplex digital signal processing (DSP), omni-directional noise and echo-canceling microphone with 12 hours talk time and300 hours standby time.

 

Comfort Fit Bluetooth Headset (MEABH2) carries a suggested retail price of $59.99, the PowerSmart Bluetooth Headset (MEABH1) $79.99 and Bluetooth Handsfree Car Speaker Kit (MEABV1) $99.99, Mobile Edge said.

 

Mobile Edge’s laptop carriers and mobile accessories are provided with advanced technologies such as ScanFast Checkpoint Friendly Technology and Wireless Security Shield. The ScanFast Checkpoint Friendly Technology enables airport screeners to x-ray the laptop while still inside the bag. Wireless Security Shield is a Zinc lined pocket with conductive fibers woven into the fabric which blocks out electromagnetic waves and radio frequencies, shielding the Bluetooth enabled cellphone or PDA from hackers.
